Over a period of five days the course moves from discussions on the basic configuration of the microscope through intermediate to advanced techniques.  Special attention is paid to the understanding of each operating parameter, in both theory and practice, each technique being discussed is thoroughly investigated during the practical periods. This is a practical course in all respects, the theory of the practical action and then an evaluation of the action on the microscope. The advanced area of the course covers all the variables of the SEM, what they mean and how to use them.  EDS is more popular then ever so we introduce the theory of the subject and allow practical time for investigations to take place under expert supervision.

The courses have been designed to take both the inexperienced and the experienced SEM operator forward, offering hands on experience with a wide range of instrumentation and techniques.   Steve Chapman's 40 years of SEM experience being used to bring modern microscopists a wealth of information in a truly informal atmosphere.

The course fee includes comprehensive pictorial notes whilst the interactive CD of the course is also available for a small additional fee.
